Community & Human Rights
We believe in respect for human rights as a minimum standard, both within and beyond our own operations. We proactively tackle human rights issues that could be impacted by our business across all of our roles – as an insurer and investor, an employer, a corporate citizen and across our supply chain
Sustainability
We clearly commit ourselves to act sustainably in all respect. Our business is driven by sustainability. Acting sustainably means when making daily business decisions, we specifically consider the short- and long-term impacts on tangible and intangible resources and stakeholders. We consider the needs of the present generation and anticipate the needs of future generations.
Based on our core belief that society relies on everyone’s individual effort to fight climate change, we enable our customers to take a more sustainable path and take our own share by constantly questioning whether we manage our business sustainably. We are convinced that sustainably managed companies make a societal contribution and are more successful in the long-term.
Environmental management
Protecting the environment is part of our business. We aim to raise environmental standards and drive decarbonization through our business and investment activities. Our Climate Change Strategy and environmental management also aim to reduce our impacts as a carbon-neutral company.
Ethics and Compliance
Our Ethics and Compliance programme encompasses risk assessments, policies and procedures, training and awareness, monitoring, speaking openly and investigations. We work with experts to ensure our programme aligns with international best practice, taking guidance from relevant authorities. All employees, directors and officers (as well as contractors, where applicable) must comply with our relevant policies and procedures, and the law. When we enter into joint ventures where we are not the operator, we encourage our partners to adopt similar policies and procedures to ours.

Respect for the individual
We all deserve to work in an environment where we are treated with dignity and respect. WISMA GROUP is committed to creating such an environment because it brings out the full potential in each of us, which, in turn, contributes directly to our business success. We cannot afford to let anyone’s talents go to waste.
WISMA GROUP is an equal employment/affirmative action employer and is committed to providing a workplace that is free of discrimination of all types and from abusive, offensive or harassing behavior. Any employee who feels harassed or discriminated against should report the incident to his or her manager or to human resources
The success of our business is dependent on the trust and confidence we earn from our employees, customers and shareholders. We gain credibility by adhering to our commitments, displaying honesty and integrity and reaching company goals solely through honorable conduct. It is easy to say what we must do, but the proof is in our actions. Ultimately, we will be judged on what we do.
WISMA GROUP’s commitment to integrity begins with complying with laws, rules and regulations where we do business. Further, each of us must have an understanding of the company policies, laws, rules and regulations that apply to our specific roles. If we are unsure of whether a contemplated action is permitted by law or WISMA GROUP policy, we should seek the advice from the resource expert. We are responsible for preventing violations of law and for speaking up if we see possible violations.
